Published on Main has become one of Vancouver’s most celebrated dining destinations - earning a coveted Michelin Star and national recognition for its inventive, ingredient-driven cuisine. But before the accolades, the restaurant began with a clear vision: to create a space where storytelling, seasonality, and creativity come together in every detail.

Located at the corner of Main Street and 20th Avenue in the heart of Mount Pleasant, Published opened its doors just before the 2019 holidays. Even in the weeks leading up to launch, anticipation grew as beautifully composed dishes made their rounds on social media. When the restaurant finally opened, it quickly became a neighbourhood - and global - favourite.

The team behind Published are seasoned culinary professionals, each bringing deep expertise, passion, and craft to the table. Their intention was clear: to build an immersive dining experience that reflects the story behind their food. Menus are rooted in seasonality, foraging, and strong relationships with local growers and producers. Every plate is a narrative, shaped by the land, the moment, and the team’s shared creativity. The space needed to reflect that same thoughtful approach.

Inspired by the idea of a place where someone could settle in with a great book, the design concept blends comfort, curiosity, and a sense of unfolding chapters. The restaurant is divided into two distinct yet cohesive rooms:

  • The Lounge — A bright, solarium-inspired space anchored by lush greenery and wraparound windows. It’s airy, inviting, and perfect for easing into the evening.

  • The Dining Room — A moodier, den-like environment with a darker palette, cozy chairs, and banquette seating that encourages guests to sink in and stay a while.

Downstairs, a polished, efficient kitchen supports the restaurant’s high level of execution, while a sleek garde-manger with bar seating brings guests closer to the craft - mirroring the transparency and intimacy of the culinary experience itself.

Since opening, Published on Main has continued to evolve, innovate, and refine its storytelling through food - and now as a Michelin-starred restaurant, its space plays an essential role in delivering an experience that feels both elevated and deeply personal.
