Bright, airy, welcoming. Walking into Delara Restaurant on Kitsilano’s West 4th Avenue is like a breath of fresh air and a warm hug all at the same time. 

We worked with chef and owner Bardia Ilbeiggi for close to two years to help him bring his concept to life. His dream was to open a welcoming restaurant that paid homage to his roots in Iran. A fresh and seasonal menu, an inviting atmosphere, all wrapped with the warmth of Iranian hospitality. 

We all know that good things take time, and landing the perfect location for Delara was a journey. Pacific was involved in a pre construction capacity from day one, and when we landed the old Burgoo on West 4th Ave we knew we had found Delara’s future home. The space needed to be transformed from it’s dark and heavily wooded interior to match Bardia’s open and airy concept. Working closely alongside interior designer Carmen Cheung, the result is a stunning yet cozy space that fills your heart and all of the senses.

One of our favourite features in the space is the front atrium. We opened it up to the entire restaurant and softened the passageways, cutting in arches instead of the enclosed doors there before. We painted the entire room and added plaster to some of the walls for texture and character. Colourful tile, fresh greenery, and thoughtful lighting all add to the inviting environment.
